Use of metronidazole
Before using it, be sure to consult your doctor first. You will have to test it on yourself for any chances of allergic reaction to some ingredients; be sure also to contact your health care provider in case this happens. Drug class and Mechanism
We’ve already made clear that metronidazole gel is a popular antibiotic proven very effective in treating some parasites and, most especially, anaerobic bacteria. Anaerobic bacteria are single-celled organisms that thrive in environments with low oxygen & known as the main perpetrators of similar diseases in the liver, abdomen area and the pelvis. Metronidazole blocks some main functions inside bacterial cells and parasites which commonly results in their demise.
Metronidazole an oral medication, and may be consumed with or without food. Generally, in hospitals it may also be delivered intravenously to treat serious infections. Your liver’s mainly responsible in eliminating the drug in your body, so doses may be slightly decreased in patients suffering from abnormal liver functions or, even, liver diseases.
Possible side effects
Every medication, possibly has its own major or minor side effects, and the same case happens with metronidazole gel. When you start feeling the side effects, like scaling, stinging, dryness, mild burning or itching, you must immediately consult your physician to be recommended the right medical attention. Known allergic reaction side effects include difficulty with breathing, hives, rash, chest tightness or even swelling of the mouth, tongue, lips or face. In addition, certain numbness and tingling in your hands and feet could also happen as a side effect, although that is less common.
Remember, though, that not all side effects have been discovered and the list is not final. Every single person reacts differently to the medication, and you may experience side effects that weren’t reported yet, though the chances of that happening is quite low.
