Acid reflux is a back flow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus, mouth or throat. Most cases of acid reflux can be treated with medication and/or simple diet changes. Eliminate trigger foods

Certain types of foods tend to create excess of stomach acids and discomfort. Some of these foods are friend foods, spicy foods, chocolate, and anything that contains garlic.


Small meals

The digestive system operates on a more efficient level if you eat much smaller meals frequently. This will prevent from the build up of acid.

Wait several hours before lying down

Give your body some time to digest the food that you have eaten before lying down. Wait 2-3 hours after you eat before you go to sleep.


Lose weight and get into shape

Excess weight is the most common contributor to acid reflux. The extra weight puts pressure on the esophagus and causes the acid to rise.


Avoid alcohol and caffeine

Alcohol and caffeine loosen the sphincter that controls the passage of the esophagus into the stomach making it flow backward. Avoid these beverages especially before bedtime.

No smoking

Smoking interferes with the digestion process. Even if you are having a hard time quitting, cut back as much as you can.

Wear loose fitting clothes

Waistbands that are tight push up against organs and can block some digestion. Try to wear more elastic waistbands. Be as comfortable as you can without being too casual.

How to Prevent Congestive Heart Failure


Congestive heart fahavilure is a health condition that is caused by fluid that backs up in the lungs due to your heart’s inability to pump blood efficiently to the lungs and to the rest of your body.

Making a few minor changes in how you live your daily life can help prevent you from suffering from congestive heart failure.

One of the best ways you can prevent congestive heart failure is through exercise. Being active at least three times a week or more can help improve your heart health. It doesn’t have to be for long periods of time, 30 minutes at least would be preventative. Also a light yoga routine would also lower your level of stress as well relax your body.


Limit salt intake

Limit your salt intake to 1.5 grams a day.  Try to not add any salt to the food that you are cooking. Eliminate chips and other salty snacks from your diet. Make sure you are purchasing items which say low in salt tor low in sodium on the label.


Healthy diet

Try and keep a healthy diet in general. Beverages with high sugar content should be avoided. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as whole-grain cereals, bread, and beans. Do not eat a lot of saturated or trans fats but instead eat foods with vegetable oil, olive oil and fishes like tuna or salmon.

Quit smoking

A major cause of heart disease is smoking which can then lead to congestive heart failure. Quitting now can reduce your risk of having the disease.  Smoking increases your chance of having congestive heart failure by 60%.


Don’t drink alcohol

Having a glass of wine before bed is good for your heart. However, too much alcohol can cause artery damage and put you at risk for congestive heart failure.

Manage your blood pressure

Increased blood pressure puts stress on the heart and puts you at risk. The best thing to do is to see your doctor regularly and make sure you stay active to keep your blood pressure down.

Although it is called morning sickness, pregnant women can experience this any time of day. But there are a number of different ways that women can relieve their morning sickness and beat that constant nauseous feeling.

Small meals

Eat small meals as frequently as you can.  Don’t let your stomach become empty because you or more likely to feel sick. It your typical meals as well as snacks in between. Try eating a little bit slower so you do not overeat which tends to make you feel even more ill.

Stay hydrated

If you are getting sick many times throughout it is extremely important to remain hydrated throughout the day so you do not become sick or dehydrated. Drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day will help keep you hydrated. Drinking carbonated beverages such as Sprite will help prevent nausea. Try not to drink TOO much as it will make you feel sick as well.

Eat crackers

If you find yourself getting up to go the bathroom a lot at night, stop for a moment and snack on a few crackers. They are easy to digest and help soothe a sick stomach. Keep some crackers by your bed at night just in case you wake up with morning sickness.


Avoid foods that trigger nausea

Try to stay away from foods that trigger nausea. Also avoid greasy or fatty foods as they tend to upset your stomach.

Do not ignore your cravings, especially if it has the potential to make you feel better. Your body is trying to tell you something. Sometimes your body may need more calcium or protein, you may start to crave peanut butter or milk. Go with what your gut tells you.

Avoid laying down after eating

Laying down horizontally will interfere with digestion.Try to avoid it for 30 minutes after you eat.

Use lavender for headaches

More often than not headaches are caused by tension in the shoulders, head, and neck. Lavender is a soothing and relaxing aroma and will help relieve tension. Apply 3-4 drops of lavender on a warm compress or damp cloth and apply to painful or tense region for 10-20 minutes.

Anxiety or depression

The soothing scent of of lavender will help inspire increased energy to those who suffer from anxiety or depression. Use as an air freshener and take slow deep breaths. You will soon start to feel calm and relaxed. You can even use it as a light perfume to apply to your temples or wrist.

Since lavender is so relaxing it will also help with bouts of insomnia. You can place lavender inside your pillowcase as well as soaking cotton balls and take in the soothing smell while you are trying to go to sleep. Placing drops of lavender on your blankets also helps.


Place a few drops of lavender and run it through your hair. This will help you remain calm and relaxed while taking the scent with you wherever you go.

Most of say to ourselves in a day to day basis that we want to be healthier. A lot of the times we say it, but have no idea how to go about it.

If you can stick to a new way to be healthier 14 days then you can do it for even longer if you put your mind to it. Here are some ways for you to become a healthier person in 14 days.


Food Pyramid

If you can print out the pyramid do so, if not write it down on a piece of paper so you can keep track of the different types of healthy foods to choose from.

Stick to the plan

If the food pyramid says eat 4 portions of fruits and vegetables every single day, then divide it up and eat 2 portions of fruit and 2 portions of veggies every day.

If you do not like eating fruits try making a smoothie. You can make a variety of different types of smoothies with fruits such as oranges, bananas, kiwi, strawberries, blueberries…anything you want!

Eat vegetables

If you do not like eating vegetables there other options for you like drinking tomato juice or eating carrot sticks. You can make a salad with any kind of veggies you like, be creative!

If you do not like to exercise frequently try just taking a walk while listening to music. Create a playlist for your walk and make it an enjoyable experience. If you do this daily you will begin to see results and it won’t seem so bad!

If you can try and drink about 8 glasses of water daily. It may be tough on you at first especially if you drink a lot of soda. Start with cutting your soda intake by 50% and go from there.

How to Avoid the Stomach Flu


Nobody has time to deal with the flu. Especially the stomach flu. Are you missing a lot of work or school because you have to be near a bathroom? Are you simply fed up with it? Here are ways that you can avoid catching that pesky stomach bug.

Wash your hands

You can wash your hands frequently to stop germs from spreading to other parts of your body such as your ears, eyes and nose. This is what makes you sick. Make sure you use soap and water and to wash thoroughly for 30 seconds.


Stay away from sick people!

If it all possible stay away from people who are sick. Sometimes this is unavoidable depending on what you do for a living. This is how germs are spread. If you do have to make contact with people who are sick make sure you remember rule number one, wash your hands!1712596752_flu_xlarge

Stay away from bad food

Stay away from food that is bad or looks unclean. Even stay away from food that was prepared by someone who might be sick.

Tooth brush

Do not put your toothbrush anywhere near a toothbrush that belongs to someone who is sick. This is a real quick way to pass germs around.


Eat healthy foods

Eating foods that are good for you keeps you feeling good as well as looking good. You can clean out your intestines with fiber and clears your body of gas.


Medicine and Supplements

While some medicines can help relieve you of your flu symptoms, the best thing to do is make sure you are getting plenty of vitamins. Vitamin C supplements are the best way to go.

Some people get tempted to go back to meat after they have been a vegetarian for awhile. They see someone else eating, the smell a smell, and they want to look back. Below are some tips that will help you stay a vegetarian if that is truly what your heart desires.

Try to Remember Why You became one

Did you become a vegetarian for health reasons? Did you do it for your love of animals? When you think about the reasons why could you ever see yourself becoming a meat eater again? Think about the benefits and see if they outweigh everything else.

Being unique

Know that when you go to a restaurant, you are standing out in a crowd, which is always a good thing. You are doing something different and you’re a strong person for sticking to your reasons for doing it.


Stay inspired

Read books, go online, find out some of the famous people who were vegetarians. Have they made an impact in some way. They may or not be one of the reasons you decided to become a vegetarian.Stay inspired!

Eat Healthy

Some people think that when they become vegetarian that gives them a pass to eat junk food. Do not automatically assume that you are eating healthy. Try different foods and do not allow yourself to get drawn into junk food.


Enjoy it!

Enjoy being a vegetarian.  Start to think about how it has changed your life for the better. There are not going to be any benefits to going back. Some of the more common causes for seizures are brain bleeding, tumors, stroke, lesions, or a traumatic brain injury. Brain infections and AIDS also cause seizures. Sometimes dementia, liver or kidney failure, low blood sugar and other medical conditions may cause a seizure.


This is a condition passed down to children from parents that affects nerve cells in your brain. Some of them may be small, however this condition is lifelong and one can experience seizures at any time.

Track mood changes

Start a diary and keep track of your mood shifts from day to day. Try to figure out if it is the environment that you are in that is triggering your mood swings. Keep a chart of your moods. This will help you determine the frequency of your shifts in mood.


Have you noticed that you go from one extreme mood to another? Being extremely happy and elated to being angry or sad is an example of this. Severe depression can also cause this.



Conduct research online before you meet with a doctor. Research coping methods and symptoms. Create a list of medications you are currently taking so that the doctor can accurately diagnose you. You could be having an emotional reaction to the medications in which you are taking.


Make an appointment as soon as possible

This is the final and definitely most important step in becoming free of your bipolar disorder if you are in fact diagnosed. Make sure you have a list of of questions for your doctor beforehand it will help you to not be nervous and also assist in getting the answers that you need. Discuss any concerns you might have with your doctor. Now is the time to speak out about your fears and hesitations you may have. The more honest that you are, the easier it will be for the doctor to diagnose you and for you to be on your way to a happier and healthier life.
